Wat Bang Pang - Khruba Si Wichai
Wat Ban Pang – The Birthplace of Kruba Tonbun, a Revered Lanna Monk Wat Ban Pang, built in the elegant Lanna architectural style, is one of the oldest and most significant temples in Lamphun Province. It is the site where Kruba Srivichai, the venerated monk of Northern Thailand, passed away.Within the temple grounds, visitors can explore the main viharn and the marble sanctuary, constructed at the location where Kruba Srivichai attained parinirvana. The temple also houses a museum displaying his personal belongings, including robes, pillows, water pots, and vases.A lifelike wax statue of Kruba Srivichai in a seated posture allows devotees to pay respects and make merit. The temple grounds are lush with trees, providing a peaceful atmosphere, and feature a stone sanctuary that once held his coffin and urns, offering visitors a profound connection to the revered monk’s life and legacy.
