Wat Mahawan is a royal temple founded during the era of Queen Chamathewi, over 1,300 years old. It’s chedi houses Phra Rod Lamphun, one of the oldest and most famous amulets, part of the five legendary amulets of the Benjapakee set. The famous “Phra Rod Mahawan” is considered the original mold of the Phra Rod amulet. It is widely believed to protect against danger, misfortune, and harm, while also bringing charm, good fortune, and safety.
