Wat Phra Yuen is one of the most historically significant temples of the ancient Hariphunchai Kingdom, with a history of over 1,000 years. It is home to the Great Bronze Standing Buddha, known as Phra Yuen, which stands 18 cubits tall and gracefully sits at the center of the chedi. The temple dates back to the era of Queen Chamathewi, the first ruler of Hariphunchai. Inside, several important architectural structures can be found, each showcasing remarkable beauty. On the front staircase of the ordination hall, there are mural paintings created during a major restoration in 1929 (B.E. 2472). Even after more than 70 years, these murals remain stunning, clearly reflecting the intricate artistry of the period.
